Kristin Paulson - Retrograde
Retrograde is a series of paintings that capture astronomical phenomena from 2024 to early 2025. These include super moons, lunar eclipses, and Venus’ occult of the moon. Each painting features handwritten text from the artist's journal entries from the time of the event. Viewed chronologically, the series captures the artist's perspective of space change over the course of a year. What began as a reverent celebration of an intangible and uncontrollable solar force evolves into an intimate study of the moon’s cycle and one's connection to self.
