My goal as an artist is to explore the latent space between soft, feminine sexuality and visceral disgust. I draw inspiration from common shared corporeal experiences like medicine and parasexual acts, and often incorporate body horror into my pieces.
My work is intended to challenge viewers to explore their relationship to their bodies and sexuality, especially where their desire ends, and discomfort begins. I intentionally render parasexual imagery which is neither explicit nor commonly explored but is still sexually provocative. By rendering these images in soft pastel colors, I create a sense of softness and femininity, to what might otherwise feel gross or uncomfortable. I strive to capture the vulnerability in disgust.
